Stories from Social Support Group Members
" I joined as a member with the ACCEPT social support Group
last year. At first I was very nervous about attending meetings as they were to be held in a Public House with lots of strangers
being there. We all felt the same but with such a welcoming smile and encouragement form John, the Group Development Worker,
we started looking forward to our weekly meetings together. I have gained a lot of confidence thanks to the group. I can now
go to Asda on occasions and even out to a resturant for a meal, none of which I could do before. "

" I have made three really good friends though ACCEPT,
who I also see outside the group. That has been truly wonderful, as I know they
have accepted me and like me for who I really am; something I never expected to happen at all.
ACCEPT is the one thing that has given me freedom from being alone. “
